I have always taken my role in furthering the wider influence of occulture upon mundane reality very seriously. Much of my work falls neatly into line with the goals and values that our uniquely earthy, boots on the ground turn of the century sorcery still aspires to. As with many tricksters I am all too willing to cavort and play the fool, but there is usually a far deeper reasoning behind what those odd actions mean. Gods may not play dice, true, but I realised very early on in my studies that the heirs to the magickal legacy that those now half forgotten spirits offered to the world must quickly become adept at social chess to survive the game. Safety in numbers perhaps. But change through solidarity for definite.

My most recent efforts to live the tenets of the Esoteric Accelerationist Manifesto, a document of my own creation that has sat glaring at the wider esoteric world since its consecration at the end of British Summertime in late 2019, has led to me rejoining my fellow adepts on social media for the first time in years. BlueSky itself is unremarkable as a platform, nothing more than an early Twitter clone in style, but the laundry list of alternative communities on there make it an obvious choice to tarry and chew over tales of rituals past. One such discussion led to a request for a look into my structured, multilayered process for hacking reality through sequential sigils, and I was all too happy to oblige.

The theoretical project which I am working on for this example is a general balancing of my finances, followed by a distinct improvement of them afterwards, an intent which I am sure that many who skirt the boundaries of the modern neo-feudalist hellscape can identify with. I am proposing a three stage casting to begin with, though while this may seem overly simple it will be perfect to exploring the idea of sequential casting in its most basic form here. Thus I seek to understand, balance and then improve, but the ritual chain itself is actually made up of many integrated workings running together and not just a trio of dedicated casting events. This is obsessional sorcery of a kind, and requires much from the user.

It is no exaggeration to refer to these layered reality hacks as a fully immersive and mentally intensive system whereby the adept is required to remain in a magickal frame of mind for at least a month or more. During this prolonged low level gnosis they must trust in their instincts to help them navigate through the sea of abstract synchronicities which will inevitably begin to stack around them. As with much of my ritual work I lean heavily towards the digital, choosing to view reality as nothing more than a series of quantum calculations, billions upon billions going on around us all every nanosecond of the day, every day of our lives, and with outcomes that are not set until someone watches them happening.

By careful observing, stacking and creating clusters of such synchronicities, the adept sets out to alter reality just enough to force a desired outcome. Sigils aside, the wider mechanics of the layered rituals remain firmly in the realm of low magick. That is, crystals, colours, candles, dance and nonsense mantra. Such a simple set of tools removes the otherwise pressing need to rewrite huge sections of historically established rules to get the job done. It is a reassuring fact that those who work under the banner of the eight pointed star are known to enjoy mapping the contents of their magpie minds onto occult operations. Invention as validation, perhaps. But sometimes simple is best for solid results.

I begin the month or so worth of interlinked spells with a simple opening, naming my desired goal and expanding upon what I hope to achieve. Sigils work best for this, and if one is created at this stage is it left unfired until the entire reality hack concludes. It is a waypoint in astral space of sorts, a viable way to mark out a ritual circle as point in time if not geographically. This would be on the appropriate coloured paper with an associated colour of ink, all to aid my focus on the outcome of the project. Perhaps I would then lay out my magical laboratory with appropriate trinkets, old bank books and coins in such a monetary example, but this window dressing really depends on my mood at the time.

From this point on I remain especially receptive to the flow of fate through my life, and can move on to the actual financial aspects. Firstly, it is important for the adept to know exactly what they require from the ritual chain. And in the case of money magick a distinction must be drawn between quick cash and long term stability. This understanding stage is similar in some ways to the divination that many occult systems will recommend before a spell is cast, though instead of throwing some bones or consulting the tarot the adept instead lists the benefits and losses that are driving their desire for change. So yes, even journaling can be a spiritual tool if approached in the correct frame of mind.

The foundation stage of the interlinked rituals complete the adept then moves on to actually attacking base reality. In the case of financial gain, a stabilisation of the current situation to allow for a more solid base to work from is next, and can be done with sigils, mantras or a combination of both. The core idea is to create a language key, be is visual or audio, that can deep dive into the adept’s subconscious and begin pulling the weave of fate in interesting directions. But this is far from a one and done deal. Each night I would continue to work the same ritual with little variations depending on my mood, and every following day I would observe the synchronicities which will inevitably start falling into place as a result.

Even miracles will refuse to manifest in a vacuum, so it falls to every spellcaster to rise to the challenge and create the very channels that the sea of abstract synchronicities will flow through any way they can. In the example above the safest way to receive a steady income is through work, and such a focus on actually applying for jobs should be maintained. Results won without such material efforts have a nasty effort of breaking through the dam that once held them back, usually painfully. This is also true if the direction of the tide is ignored, and it is very easy for the less motivated adept to become lost in the vast oceans of action going on around them while rowing in circles because they ignore mundane answers.

By the end of the initial ritual cycle, usually within a month or so, actual wording used to manifest the desire will have evolved a great deal, from a starting point of something similar to ‘It is my will to balance my finances‘ towards a much more specific ‘It is my will to be chosen for the interview‘, depending on what real world work has been done towards the goal. The trigger point is reached and the adept can now look at preparations for the next sequence of rituals. The first batch of sigils except for the initial opening one are destroyed and the magical laboratory is aired to dissipate the energies of that stage. While no doubt exhausted, there is more to do. Efforts must now be made to solidify the desire.

The adept drops themselves out of the synchronicity watching state of mind to concentrate on the real world aspects of their ever moving march towards the manifestation now. This can be easier said that done, but personally I like to reassure myself that the situation has been helped as much as it can be by esoteric means, and any extra effort in that sphere would be in vain. A week or so later, when the little seeds which I have planted within the chain of calculations have had time to take root, I begin the process again exactly as before, but this time with a mind towards boosting my finances instead of balancing them. As with the above example, charming those at the job interview would be a worthy goal.

These amended but arguably more focussed desires are laid upon the fertile foundation left by the first set of rituals, and again the adept retires from the process after a week or so, this time probably for good unless further small bumps in the road require the application of a little synchronicity to move out of the way. When the result is obtained, or external factors render any additional magickal action to be pointless, the initial opening sigil is fired and destroyed, closing the loop and rendering the entire month or two which existed within that temporal snapshot to be an entire occult operation distinct from base reality, yet acting freely upon it for the betterment of the adept themselves.

And that is about it really. I could add copious footnotes about timing, state of mind, correct choices of music and clothing or even which bodily fluids are required for success, all in an effort to add to the general mystique of my pet paradigm. But I see no value in creating a mythos around what I do, nor does added complexity further my long-term goals either. Occulture comes first. So while time consuming, these sequential reality hacks are a seriously stripped down way of working that discards all the usual ritualistic trappings to instead rely upon the instincts of the caster, and that is exactly why I like it. What you do not have you cannot lose, after all, so there is nothing wrong with rolling those god shunned dice.
