Gavin Fox is a freelance occult and paranormal author currently residing in Cardiff, South Wales. As to be expected of someone who grew up in London’s East End, Gavin has an eclectic and at times sarcastic view of culture in general, and this thread of gallows humour runs throughout his work. He specialises in creating engaging longform articles on a variety of weird and unusual topics. These include chaos magick, necromancy, ghost hunting, demonolatry, and the unfair treatment of his fellow occultists both past and present.

A proud gutter mage and left leaning accelerationist, he seeks non-destructive ways to to disrupt the usually moribund sphere of occulture and push it into new and prominent directions. Gavin remains a firm believer that only by forcing those loosely allied movements to evolve in line with their shared roots can they remain culturally relevant. Be it by leading multi-day sigil bombs via social media or providing reasoned critique of the growing tide of anti Pagan sentiment, his work remains a light in the wasteland that is modern magick.

Initially seeing print in 2013’s Conjure Codex Green from Hadean Press he has since gone on to write for a number of esoteric publications, both physical and digital. These include print magazines such as Pagan Dawn, as well as prestige occult anthologies like Anathema Publishing’s Pillars: A Wayfarers Hearth. He also completed essays for smaller ‘zines, such as Five Of Swords and Witchfest’s Witchcraft and Wicca Magazine. Online his articles can be seen at SpiralNature.Com, WildHunt.Org and ChaosMagick.Com as well.

His first solo book, The Accelerated Necromancer, is designed to highlight the benefits of working with the dead in a reverential, yet pragmatic way. An instant hit among a diverse range of magickal communities, it called to those who seek to explore the shadows both safely and with a well defined morality, ultimately freeing the postmodern version of that otherwise taboo art from much of the negative history which holds it back. Published by Erebus Society in late 2024, it is available anywhere either physical or digital texts are sold.

The Accelerated Chaote offers Gavin a chance to freely share his out of print essays for a much wider online audience, and further infest the permaculture with his admittedly deeply nihilistic take on modern magick. A prolific and at times obsessive writer, Gavin is open to offers of inclusion in occult and esoteric publications, as well as commission work in a similar vein. Rates for the latter are negotiable, though he will generally accept exposure and expenses should the idea prove too interesting to pass up.
